Noble 8 Fold Path Retreat 2024

May 24 - May 29

Free

The noble eightfold path was included in the very first teaching of the Buddha; the four noble truths. Of the four noble truths, the eightfold path is the fourth: “the path leading to the end of suffering”. The path can be broken down into Sila, Samadhi, and Panna : Conduct, Concentration, and Wisdom.

Conduct(Sila) is right action and also refers to the precepts.

Concentration(Samadhi) can also be translated as serenity or calm and is the fruit of various samatha practices.

Wisdom(Panna) refers to insight, a fruit of mindfulness practice and includes right view.

All are part of right action and require right effort/energy. This 5 night retreat will include in depth exploration into the noble eightfold path and experiential inquiry into the conduct, concentration, and wisdom of this path and integrates it into our daily life and sitting practice. This includes the importance of precepts/right action and right meditation.
