Because our supporters wish to donate to Bhavana Society’s residential community, we provide this list of items which would be useful. We deeply  appreciate your donations and we remain grateful to ALL of our supporters!

Bhante G has requested that no cookies, crackers or candy be brought to the monastery. This is for the health of our community.

2. A faucet for the kitchen 3-sink — broken after decades of use
3. Sturdy work gloves to protect our hands when doing manual work


  • Instant coffee (regular or decaf)
  • Healthy cereal, such as Grape Nuts or Granola, etc.
  • Ground Flax seed
  • Unsalted mixed nuts
  • Walnuts
  • Almonds

Dried Fruit (only without sugar, please)

  • Prunes
  • Apricots
  • Figs
  • Dates

Fruits and Veggies

  • Brussel’s sprouts
  • Bananas
  • Blueberries

  • Plain, unsweetened yogurt
  • Kite Hill almond milk  yogurt


  • Coconut water

  • Canned diced tomatoes

Household items and cleaners

  • Gallon disinfecting bleach (must be plain bleach, not no-spill or scented or mixed with a cleaner)
  • Long lighters for starting wood stoves and lighting altar candles
  • Paint brushes (from one-inch on up)

Heath and medicine cabinet

  • Crest Spin Brush toothbrush heads

Things we do not need

  • Rice
  • Anything with sugar
  • Laundry detergent
  • Scented candles
  • Air fresheners
  • Salty or sugary “snack foods” (chips, crackers, bars, etc.)
  • Candy (except for dark chocolate)
  • Bath towels
  • Kleenex
  • Paper towels
  • Canned food
  • Light bulbs other than LED (we’ve switched over to 100% led light bulbs to save energy)
