This includes participating in scheduled meditation and chanting, observing silence during meals, helping with assigned chores, and observing the Eight Precepts for the duration of my visit. I understand that pets are not permitted on the grounds, and that no evening meal or snacking after noon is offered as part of the monastery’s practice of moderation.
